Prague: The City of a Thousand
Spires
We lived in Prague, Czech Republic from March 2002 to July 2006 and loved our time in such a magnificent and beautiful city. Despite our frequent travel around Europe, we never found a city equal in charm to Praha. Prague will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Prague is truly magnificent. We would hope that everyone would have the opportunity to experience Prague at least once in their lifetime. We are lucky to get to experience it every day.
For those who will not be able to see it in person, or even for those that want to relive the experience, you can go on a virtual walk through Prague's city center, starting at the Old Town Square and up to the castle. >>

PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC Prague is the capital of the Czech Republic and is located in the center of Bohemia (the westernmost of three Czech regions). Prague has approximately 1.2 mln people. Most of Prague's historical center was developed during the 14th century reign of the Holy Roman Emperor, Charles IV, who chose Prague as his Imperial residence and set out to make the city the most magnificent in Europe. Many of the items he built are named after him [i.e. Charles Bridge (1357), Charles University (1348), etc.]. The Czech Republic is located in the very center of Europe and Prague is often referred to as the "heart of Europe." The Czech Republic is bordered by Germany, Poland, Austria, and Slovakia. |
